Queen Máxima visits shoe museum

Queen Máxima of the Netherlands visited the shoe museum Het Schoenenkwartier in Waalwijk.

Queen Máxima toured the new exhibition “The History of De Langstraat” alongside museum volunteers. She also visited a new exhibition entitled “Trek de stoute schoenen aan,” which translates as “Take a plunge” but has a pun with shoes in Dutch.

She then met with students who showed their school projects on a catwalk in the “take a plunge” style. In the nearby shoe lab, she met with artisan shoemakers who were using innovative techniques.
