Princess Sofia of Sweden has made her first comments since giving birth to her fourth child and first daughter with Prince Carl Philip.
As the Prince and Princess were leaving Danderyd Hospital, Sofia spoke to Swedish news Aftonbladet.
She said: “Everyone is doing well, it feels great.”
When she and Prince Carl Philip were asked about returning home to their three sons (Princes Alexander, Gabriel and Julian), Carl Philip said: “They are full of anticipation.”
The Prince has always been seen as a doting uncle to his three nieces, Princesses Estelle, Leonore and Adrienne; it came as no surprise that the Prince told the media it was “fantastic” to have a daughter of his own.
Princess Sofia added: “Very exciting!”
The new Princess of Sweden is eighth in the line of succession to the Swedish throne. Her name and dukedom will be revealed by her grandfather, King Carl Gustaf, at a cabinet meeting on Monday morning. A Te Deum service will follow in the Royal Chapel.
A photo of the new royal baby is expected to be released in the coming days.
