The Princess of Asturias has begun her education at the Naval Military School in Spain.
The heir to the Spanish throne has started classes at the Marín Military Naval School as a first-year Midshipman for the 2024-2025 academic year.
Princess Leonor, 18, was received by the Commander-Director of the School and signed the Book of Honour.
The Princess will train at the academy until Christmas. She will then join the Training Ship Juan Sebastián de Elcano to undertake the 17th Training Cruise. This will be completed with a period of practice in units of the fleet, according to Casa Real.
Casa Real said: “During this entire period she will be provided with the knowledge, principles and values that inspire the rules of conduct of the Navy.”
This is part of the Princess of Asturias’s military training for her future role as Queen of Spain. She has already studied for one year with the Spanish Army. After training with the Navy, she will train with Spain’s Air Force at the General Air Academy.
