The Bank of England has announced that banknotes featuring the image of King Charles III will go into circulation.
Banknotes with the image of Queen Elizabeth II will remain legal tender.

The first new banknotes will be issued on 5 June 2024.
There will also be a series of charity auctions for low-serial numbered notes at Spink & Son. The money raised will be donated.
