Princess Margarita de Bourbon de Parme had announced that she and her husband are to divorce “in friendship.”
The Princess is quoted from a press release, “After a wonderful time of over 16 years together, where we have shared the good and the bad, each of us will now go their separate path. At the same time, we will continue to walk the same path as friends and loving parents of our two wonderful daughters.”
Tjalling ten Cate was Princess Margarita’s second husband. She was previously married to Edwin de Roy van Zuydewijn from 2001 until 2006. Princess Margarita is the eldest daughter and second child of Princess Irene of the Netherlands, aunt of King Willem-Alexander, and Prince Carlos Hugo, titular Duke of Parma. She and her three siblings were raised to the Dutch nobility following their parents’ divorce.
