Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway has received her second foreign honour.

The President of Iceland, Halla Tómasdottir, who is on a state visit to Norway, has awarded the Princess the Grand Cross of the Order of the Falcon. This is the only order of chivalry in Iceland and was founded by King Christian X of Denmark and Iceland in 1921.

She previously received the Danish Order of the Elephant from Queen Margrethe II of Denmark on the occasion of her 18th birthday in 2022.

Princess Ingrid Alexandra’s grandfather, King Harald V, granted President Halla Tómasdottir the Grand Cross of the Order of St Olav and her husband Björn Skúlason the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit.

The other Norwegian royals taking part in this state visit have already received the Order of the Falcon during previous state visits.
