Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway is participating in her first state visit.
The future queen attended the official welcome for the Icelandic President Halla Tómasdóttir and her husband Björn Skúlason at the Royal Palace and later joined the Royal Family for the state banquet.
Donning her birthday tiara, Princess Ingrid Alexandra posed for the official photo ahead of the state banquet at the Royal Palace. She was seen wearing her new Icelandic order gifted to her by the President of Iceland during the visit.
King Harald explained why the state visit from Iceland was the first one for the Princess: “In 2004, when this young lady was only five months old, she and her parents went on her very first official visit abroad – to Iceland. Because of all the good memories she has from this visit, it was only natural that this would be the first state visit she would participate in.”
The Princess wore a familiar dress to royal watchers. She borrowed the light blue gown from her mother for the state banquet. Crown Princess Mette-Marit previously wore it at the 2010 wedding of Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden to Prince Daniel.
President Halla Tómasdóttir is on a state visit to Norway from 8 to 10 April. The Royal Court has said the “visit confirms the close relationship between Iceland and Norway.”
