The Norwegian Royal Court has announced that Princess Ingrid Alexandra will begin working as a school assistant and environmental worker in the autumn.
Following this, Princess Ingrid Alexandra will begin 12 months of military training at the Engineer Battalion in Brigade Nord in 2024. She will join the Skjold camp in Indre Troms in January, and she will be assigned a service position after the recruitment period.
Princess Ingrid Alexandra finished upper secondary school with a graduation ceremony at Elvebakken upper secondary school on 20 June 2023. She is the eldest child of Crown Prince Haakon of Norway and Crown Princess Mette-Marit. Due to the introduction of absolute primogeniture in 1990, Princess Ingrid Alexandra is second in the line of succession behind her father. She has an elder half-brother Marius Borg Høiby, and a younger full brother, Prince Sverre Magnus.
If she succeeds to the throne as expected, she will become Norway’s first Queen regnant in 600 years.
