King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden revealed the Seraphim shield of his youngest granddaughter, Princess Ines, during a meeting of the Order of the Seraphim.

Meetings of the order are held once a year under the chairmanship of King Carl XVI Gustaf, who is the Grand Master of the Orders of Seraphim, Sword, North Star and Vasa.

Two new members of the Order were presented as well. Marshal of the Royal Swedish Academy Jan Björklund and Governor of the Riksbank Erik Thedéen, who replaces former State Secretary and Governor of the Riksbank Urban Bäckström. A new foreign knight, President of the Republic of Iceland, Halla Tómasdottir, has been appointed since the last meeting of the Order.

The Royal Coat of Arms painter presented the newly painted Seraphim shields of Princess Ines and that of President Macron. Princess Ines was given the Order of the Seraphim on the day of her christening.

The Seraphim shields are kept by the Royal Orders of Knighthood at the Royal Palace for as long as the member is alive. After their death, the shield is moved to Riddarholmen Church.
