The Royal Box at Wimbledon had plenty of royal guests at the Men’s Singles Final yesterday. The match was between Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz.

The Princess of Wales, as Patron of Wimbledon, attended the final with her husband, the Prince of Wales, and two of their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. Another guest was King Felipe of Spain, who was there to support his countryman.

It was Prince George’s second time at Wimbledon, but this was the first year that Princess Charlotte attended the tournament. They met with the ball boys and girls before the match and chatted with Mu’awwiz Anwar, who was chosen to do the coin toss.

King Felipe was the first to congratulate the winner, Carlos Alcaraz, who joked that he had won both matches that the King had attended. The Princess of Wales handed him the trophy, which he accepted with a deep bow.

The Spanish royal Twitter account was quick to tweet out congratulations as well, “Dreaming and playing like a number one. Thus you have become the champion of @Wimbledon 2023. Congratulations, @carlosalcaraz!”
