American singer Halsey has come to the defence of the Princess of Wales after people spread unfounded rumours and speculation on the royal’s health.
Before the Princess of Wales revealed her cancer diagnosis, trolls spread harsh speculation and untrue rumours across social media about why the Princess hadn’t been seen in public.
Halsey took to Instagram after the news of Catherine’s cancer to say: “Hope the people and media who sensationalized a woman’s desire for privacy following a known health incident are experiencing regret and remorse. And by the way, that would stand even without the terrible news of her journey.”
She then added: “I understand that when you have a public life certain things like this can get out of hand. But God forbid someone needs a few weeks or months, it’s no one’s business why.”
Halsey wasn’t the only celebrity to make comments on social media after news of Catherine’s diagnosis. Blake Lively, who had mocked the photoshopped photo of Catherine and her children, publicly apologised for her social media post.
“I’m sure no one cares today, but I feel like I have to acknowledge this. I made a silly post around the ‘photoshop fails’ frenzy, and oh man, that post has me mortified today. I’m sorry. Sending love and well wishes to all, always,” she wrote on Instagram.
