Albert II, Prince of Monaco, has sent a message of support to those affected by the fires in France, Spain and the United Kingdom.

The message posted on the official Facebook page reads,

“As violent fires hit many regions around the world, including France, Spain, and the United Kingdom, Princess Charlène joins me in expressing our sincerest support to all those who are suffering the consequences. We think of the affected families, the people forced to leave their homes, and all the communities mobilised to face this ordeal.

“We salute the remarkable courage of the firefighters, rescue teams, and all those working tirelessly to protect the populations and preserve the threatened territories. These fires also affect precious natural environments and fragile biodiversity. They are partly the result of major climate changes that are affecting our climate, and they call for more courageous responses than ever. Protecting our environment is an urgent need that must bring us all together.

“In these difficult times, our solidarity accompanies each of the people affected. S.A.S. Prince Albert II”
