Albert II, Prince of Monaco, attended the 8th Summit of the European Political Community, held in Yerevan, Armenia.
The summit brought together the heads of state and government of the European continent, leaders from European institutions and international organisations, and Mark Carney, Prime Minister of Canada. The goal was to discuss issues of stability, security and cooperation in Europe.
Prince Albert participated in a roundtable discussion entitled “Strengthening Connectivity and Economic Security in the Context of the Ecological Transition.” He emphasised that the ecological transition, economic security, and development are closely linked and should not be seen as opposing forces. He added that the European strategic autonomy needs to be strengthened while avoiding new dependencies, particularly in the energy sector.
The Prince also took part in the session dedicated to the European Coalition against Drugs (ECAD), an initiative launched at the Copenhagen Summit in October 2025. The ECAD also aims to fight against drug trafficking, illicit financial flows, and the development of prevention and harm reduction policies.
