The Norwegian Royal Court has issued an update on the health of Crown Princess Mette-Marit.
The Royal Court has revealed that the Crown Princess’s chronic pulmonary fibrosis has progressed.
Mette-Marit’s symptoms are getting worse and affecting her ability to do her royal duties.
She wants to continue working, but her schedule will have to be adapted to her health condition.
In a press release, they announced: “The Crown Princess has daily symptoms and ailments that affect her ability to perform her duties. The Crown Princess needs more rest, and her daily routine changes more quickly than before. This means that changes to her official schedule may occur more frequently and at shorter notice than we are used to.
“The Crown Princess has a strong desire to continue working, and therefore, we will organise her official program in the future in the best possible way so that her health and work can be combined.”
Crown Princess Mette-Marit, 51, was diagnosed with chronic pulmonary fibrosis in 2018, with the Royal Court announcing that it could “temporarily the performance of her official program.”
Since then, she has had to make her health a priority and limit her royal duties.
