Two new photos have been released of Prince Oscar of Sweden as he celebrates his eighth birthday.
Crown Princess Victoria took both images during the winter holiday in Storlien in January and February.
The third in line to the throne can be seen playing in the snow with a black jacket and blue hat.
Prince Oscar, Duke of Scane was born on 2 March 2016 as the second child and only son of Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel.
He has one older sister, Princess Estelle, who just celebrated her 12th birthday on 23 February. Images from the same holiday were released for her birthday.
Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar are the only two of King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia’s grandchildren who hold the style of Royal Highness and belong to the Royal House. As they are in the direct line of succession, they will be expected to undertake duties on behalf of the Crown when they come of age.
Their cousins from Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia (Princes Alexander, Gabriel and Julian) and Princess Madeleine and Chris O’Neill (Princesses Leonore and Adrienne and Prince Nicolas) are not part of the Royal House but are part of the greater Royal Family. They will not have to undertake royal duties as they get older and will have more freedom to choose their future paths.
