King Harald V of Norway will remain on sick leave until at least 22 April.

He is still recovering from his hospitalisation and will need more time to return to work. Crown Prince Haakon will continue to act as regent during his father’s illness.

King Harald’s engagements will be covered by other members of the family.

The medal reception on 9 April will be held by Queen Sonja, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit. The Crown Princess will also present the National Association for Public Health’s research awards on 15 April. Queen Sonja will visit Melhus and Skaun on 16 April.

Crown Prince Haakon’s official visit to the United States will take place as planned. The government will oversee the governance of Norway during his absence.
