Marius Borg Høiby, the son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit, has been arrested for a second time.
According to Norwegian media, Høiby, 27, was arrested on Friday, 13 September.
Initial reports suggested that the stepson of Crown Prince Haakon was arrested for violating a restraining order; however, Høiby’s attorney has denied the claim.
Supposedly, Høiby contacted one of the victims from a hidden phone number.
Høiby’s attorney, Øyvind Bratlien, argued there wasn’t evidence for the arrest: “In my seventeen years as a lawyer, I have never heard of an arrest on such a weak factual and legal basis.”
The 27-year-old was arrested in August for domestic violence, and he later confessed to harming a woman while under the influence of alcohol and cocaine.
He vowed at the time that he was going to continue treatment for substance abuse. He said at the time: “I have several mental disorders which mean that throughout my upbringing and adult life, I have had, and still have, challenges. I have struggled with substance abuse for a long time, something I have been in treatment for in the past. I will now resume this treatment and take it very seriously.”
Oslo police have said that they have added the charge of violation of a restraining order and reckless conduct against Høiby.
