King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands visited Rotterdam to remember the victims of a fatal shooting.
The Looiershof in Delfshaven was appointed as the memorial site after a fatal shooting in a house and the Erasmus MC hospital. The King spoke with the families of the victims, the people in the neighbourhood, and doctors, students and other employees of the hospital.
He also spoke with the police officers, firefighters and other organisations who helped after the shooting. He was joined by the mayor of Rotterdam, Ahmed Aboutaleb.
Three people were killed in two shootings last Thursday. A 39-year-old woman and her 14-year-old daughter were killed in their home. The daughter initially survived but died later that day. At the Erasmus MC hospital, a 43-year-old teacher and GP was shot. The 32-year-old Fouad L. is a suspect in both fatal shootings.
