King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway have been gifted with gingerbread castles by local children.

Following tradition in Norway, the kindergarteners of Fridheim create gingerbread castles for Their Majesties each year.

They brought their work to the Royal Palace in Oslo on 4 December.

They were photographed with the Royal Guards outside the palace before their work was taken inside.

The Royal House later shared images of the children outside the Royal Palace with the Royal Guards.

The gingerbread castles will decorate the Royal Palace until Christmas.
