King Harald of Norway has postponed his attendance at the World Ski Championships in Trondheim.

The King will not attend the sporting event throughout its duration due to a cold.

The Norwegian Royal Court said in a press release: “His Majesty the King is sick with a cold and is therefore postponing his attendance at the World Ski Championships in Trondheim.”

Other members of the Norwegian Royal Family will still attend the championships.

Queen Sonja, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit will attend on various days from 26 February to 9 March. King Harald is scheduled to attend the World Ski Championships on 2 March during the 20 km skiathlon for women.

At the moment, his last scheduled event for the winter sports is on 6 March for the 4×5 km team race for men.
