King and Queen of Sweden to undertake state visit to Poland

The Swedish Royal Court has announced a state visit for the King and Queen of Sweden this March.

The Swedish Royal Court announced yesterday that King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia will pay a state visit to the Republic of Poland from the 10th to the 12th March, 2026. The visit comes at the invitation of H.E. President Karol Nawrocki.

The state visit will be centred around investment and entrepreneurship as well as innovation and total defence.

The Royal Court added:

Relations between Poland and Sweden are distinguished by strong societal, economic and cultural ties, close cooperation within the EU and NATO, similar values and shared views on issues concerning the EU’s Eastern Neighbourhood, security in the Baltic Sea region and support to Ukraine.

King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia will be accompanied by Minister for Foreign Affairs Maria Malmer Stenergard, Minister for Defence Pål Jonson, Minister for Civil Defence Carl-Oskar Bohlin, Minister for Culture Parisa Liljestrand and State Secretary Diana Janse, Ministry for Foreign Affairs. A business delegation organised by Business Sweden of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs will also be present.

Their Majesties previously paid a state visit to Poland in 2011. The King and Queen most recently visited Canada in November 2025.
