Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden celebrated her Name Day at the Royal Palace in Stockholm.
The Armed Forces celebrate the Crown Princess with music and a salute. Her Royal Highness then greeted the public, who came out on a chilly day to celebrate with her.
This was the first time Crown Princess Victoria wore her military uniform for the event, after recently being promoted to Ensign.

The Crown Princess met Lieutenant Colonel Marcus Appelgren from the Victoria Battalion (2nd Amphibious Battalion) of the Stockholm Amphibious Regiment inside the palace. He presented her with a photo album of the battalion over the years.
Victoria’s Name Day is celebrated on 12 March each year. The Crown Princess greets the public in the Outer Courtyard each year, receiving flowers and gifts from the people.

The date for the celebration is in memory of the future Queen Victoria’s engagement to the future King Gustaf V.
The day has been on the royal calendar since the 1990s when the Armed Forces began celebrating the heir’s name day.
In time, when Princess Estelle is the heir, it is expected there will be public celebrations for her name day.
