Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden are set to visit California.

The official visit will take place from 19-22 February alongside Minister of State Johan Forssell and a Swedish business delegation.

The Crown Princess Couple will visit San Francisco, Sacramento and Palo Alto at the request of the Swedish government.

The Royal Court said the purpose of the trip is to “broaden and develop relations with California in innovation, green transition and emerging technologies with a focus on artificial intelligence (AI).”

Victoria and Daniel will inaugurate the new Swedish Consulate General in San Francisco, meet California Governor Gavin Newson for bilateral talks, attend seminars, and visit the Green Transition Summit, among other things.

The royals will also meet with Swedes who reside in the San Francisco Bay area and visit the Scandinavian School and Cultural Center where Scandinavian languages and cultures are taught.

The Royal Academy of Engineering Sciences and Business Sweden are organising the trip.

The couple’s two children, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar are not expected to join them.
