Infanta Elena presides over children’s painting competition

Infanta Elena of Spain has presided over the 34th edition of the Children and Youth Painting Competition for Schools.

She presented the awards for the 2024-2025 academic year. The purpose of the competition is to promote the royal sites of the National Heritage among young people through artistic expression.

Upon arrival, the Infanta was greeted by the manager of the National Heritage Board of Directors, María Dolores Menéndez Company. She was then greeted by the officials and members of the jury before taking her place in the front row.

She was then invited on stage to present the awards. The students awarded the first prizes in primary education were Martín García Portolés, from the Niño Jesús School in Burgos (third prize); Vera Oviedo Martínez, from the FEC Vedruna School in Pamplona (second prize); and Marta Méndez Fontecha, from the Seis de Diciembre Preschool and Primary School in Alcobendas, Madrid (first prize).

The students who received the first prizes in secondary education were Santiago Ramil Moya, from Everest School Monteclaro in Pozuelo de Alarcón, Madrid (third prize); Shiang Zu Lang, from Mirabal International School in Boadilla del Monte, Madrid (second prize); and Paola Muñoz Durán, from Colegio Sagrado Corazón de Jesús in Constantina, Seville (first prize).

All students who participated received a participation diploma.
