A court case is set to begin on Monday against a man suspected of preparing an attack on Princesses Amalia and Alexia of the Netherlands.

The suspect is a 33-year-old man. He was allegedly in possession of two axes bearing the words “Alexia,” “Mossad,” and “Sieg Heil.” He allegedly also had a text containing the words “Amalia,” “Alexia,” and “Bloodbath.”

The Public Prosecution Service is reluctant to provide further details about the suspect. It is unclear how concrete the plan was, nor is anything known regarding his motive.  A spokesperson told NOS that the suspect is a “vulnerable” individual.

This isn’t the first time Princess Amalia has faced something like this. Due to threats, she was unable to move into her student accommodation in 2022. It later emerged that the Princess had spent a year in Madrid.
