Queen Mary of Denmark has released a statement following the death of her father last week.

Queen Mary of Denmark has spoken for the first time since the very sad death of her father, Professor John Dalgleish Donaldson, on 11 April. The Queen gave thanks for the many words of support, which “means more than words can say.”

In a statement released by the Danish Royal Court, via social media, in full, says:

My heartfelt thanks for the overwhelming number of messages, flowers, and warm thoughts regarding my father’s death. The enormous amount of empathy has touched us deeply and means more, than words can say.

The Royal Court has yet to release any plans regarding the private memorial service, which is to take place in the coming days. The Royal News Organisation will keep you up to date with any developments as they happen.
