Princess Benedikte attended the Danish Sports Confederation’s reception in Paris in connection with the Summer Olympic Games.

The aunt of King Frederik attended the reception on 1 August at Denmark House – the Danish pavilion set up in Paris to share Danish culture.

The Chairman of the Danish Sports Confederation Hans Natorp greeted the Princess upon arrival and she later met Danish Olympians, politicians and former Danish Olympians.

The Danish Royal House later shared images from the event on their official website.

No member of the Danish Royal Family was initially on the guest list, and Princess Benedikte surprised many with her appearance.

Queen Mary is also in Paris to cheer on the Danish athletes at the Games.
