Queen Camilla and the Duchess of Gloucester visited the Fan Museum in Greenwich on 7 May.

The Queen, who serves as Patron of The Fan Museum and Honorary Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Fan Makers, opened the new Monarchy exhibition in Greenwich and unveiled a plaque to mark the occasion.

The Duchess of Gloucester, who is also Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Fan Makers, joined Her Majesty to see the new exhibit.

There are over 80 fans from three centuries of royal history on display, including the fan Queen Camilla held in the Coronation portrait by artist Paul Benney. Two fans from the personal collection of the Queen are also on exhibit.

In a sweet gesture, the Master of the guild, Dinesh Naidu, presented Queen Camilla with the fan from the painting. It was commissioned by the Worshipful Company of Fan Makers for the Coronation.

She also met trustees, staff, members of the Worshipful Company of Fan Makers, and spoke to the museum’s founder, Helene Alexander.

The Monarchy exhibit is now open to the public at the Fan Museum. The Queen has been the patron since 2008.
