The Princess of Wales visited the 1st Battalion Irish Guards for the first time since becoming Colonel last year, taking over from her husband.
The Irish Guards are experts in infantry combat. Catherine heard first-hand about the work that the Irish Guards are doing at the Salisbury Plain Training Area and also took part in a battlefield casualty drill.
Catherine met Guardsmen of Number One and Number Two Company, who were recently deployed on Security Force Assistance tasks, such as counter-poaching.
She then joined members of Number Three Company to see a medical training and casualty exercise.
