Princess Anne officially granted Bangor a city charter in a special ceremony.
Anne was given a grand reception by the local sea cadets and residents. Bangor was granted city status during Queen Elizabeth II’s jubilee celebrations in June. During the ceremony, the princess unveiled the so-called Letters Patent that officially confirm the city rights and were issued by her brother King Charles III.
