The Duke of Sussex has resigned from Sentebale, which was set up in 2006 in honour of his mother Diana, Princess of Wales.
It was set up to help people in southern Africa who were living with HIV and Aids.
His resignation came after a row between the trustees and the chair of its board. Prince Harry’s co-founder, Prince Seeiso of Lesotho, also stepped down. The relationship between the trustees and the chair broke “down beyond repair” after the chair was asked to resign.
The chair, Dr Sophie Chandauka, has reported the trustees to the UK Charity Commission. They noted that they were “aware of concerns about the governance.”
Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso said in a joint statement, “It is devastating that the relationship between the charity’s trustees and the chair of the board broke down beyond repair, creating an untenable situation.”
