King Charles has said he is proud of his daughter-in-law’s courage in revealing her cancer diagnosis.

Buckingham Palace released a statement after the Princess of Wales’s shocking cancer revelation, showing support for Catherine as she undergoes preventative chemotherapy.

A spokesperson for Buckingham Palace said that the King is “so proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking as she did” and that he has “remained in the closest contact with his beloved daughter-in-law throughout the past weeks.”

Both underwent procedures at the London Clinic in January. King Charles underwent a procedure for an enlarged prostate, while the Princess had abdominal surgery. In both instances, the surgeries revealed cancer.

The spokesperson added that the King and Queen Camilla “will continue to offer their love and support to the whole family through this difficult time.”

Like the King, the Princess of Wales will not be undertaking royal duties for some time. She will not return to work until her doctors clear her.

It is not known what type of cancer Catherine has or the type King Charles is battling.
