Princess Ines of Sweden was christened in the Royal Chapel of Drottningholm Palace.

The royal baby was christened on 13 June – her parents’ tenth wedding anniversary.

The Chief Chaplain, Bishop Johan Dalman, and the pastor of the Royal Court Assembly, Ordinary Chaplain Michael Bjerkhagen, officiated the service.

Princess Ines wore the traditional Swedish christening gown, and her name and christening date will be embroidered on the gown’s cape now that the service has taken place. Water from a spring on the island of Öland was used, with Ines’s older brothers, Princes Alexander, Gabriel and Julian, pouring it into the baptism font.

A lovely personal touch was also included in the music, with a song co-written by Princess Sofia sung. The song, “Till My Last Breath”, was co-written with Molly Sandén and Danny Saucedo.

Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia were very proud parents throughout the ceremony, and Carl Philip was seen kissing little Ines on the head several times.

As is tradition, the proud grandfather, King Carl Gustaf, presented his granddaughter with her mini sash of the Order of the Seraphim.

Her godparents were announced the day before the service as her first cousin, Princess Estelle, and Fredrik von der Esch, Claes Kockum, Sandrine Kockum and Tiara Larsson.

A reception was held for guests after the christening by King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia, with little Ines lying in Charles XV’s cradle while her parents greeted guests.

A private lunch followed for the Royal Family, Hellqvist family and godparents.
