King Charles and Queen Camilla celebrated the 50th anniversary of the King’s Trust at Royal Albert Hall.
Their Majesties attended a special evening at the Royal Albert Hall titled A King’s Trust Celebration. The London event celebrated the 50th anniversary of the King’s Trust (formerly known as the Prince’s Trust).
Ambassadors, alumni, staff and volunteers gathered with the King and Queen to celebrate the work of the organisation and those it has helped. Famous names at the event included George and Amal Clooney, Rita Ora, Ronnie Wood (The Rolling Stones), Rod Stewart, and Lily Collins.
Stewart was heard praising the King’s state visit to the United States and taking a jab at US President Donald Trump, remarking, “May I say, well done in the Americas. You were superb. Absolutely superb. You put that little rat bag in his place.”
King’s Trust Ambassadors, Ant and Dec, hosted the event, where King Charles and Queen Camilla met this year’s award winners. The evening was not complete without a stage appearance by the royal couple and the playing of the national anthem.
King Charles set up the Prince’s Trust in 1976 when he was the Prince of Wales. It has helped over a million young people across the United Kingdom since its inception.
Regarding the King’s Trust, Buckingham Palace explained that it “believes that every young person should have the chance to succeed, no matter what their background or the challenges they face. The charity helps those from disadvantaged communities and those facing adversity by supporting them to build the confidence and skills to live, learn and earn.”
The King’s Trust will be celebrated again on 14 May at a Garden Party at Buckingham Palace.
