The Countess of Wessex visited Connaught Junior School in Bagshot.
She opened the new so-called STEAM lab at the school. This is a special room for science, technology and math. Coincidentally, the school also celebrated their 60th anniversary, and Sophie celebrated with them.
During her visit, Sophie met students and teachers, and she was given a tour of the new STEAM lab. In a so-called potter’s room, Sophie and group 5 made clay tiles for the anniversary.
A tree was planted outside as part of the Queen’s Green Canopy initiative. Various projects of the school were discussed, such as composting waste. Sophie also met the school mascot – dog Toffee – who showed some tricks.
