Princess Elisabeth of Belgium is set to begin a seven-week internship in Belgium.
The future queen will undertake a seven-week summer internship in Brussels.
It is unknown where the royal’s internship is.
Belgian reporter, Wim Dehandschutter, reported the news and believes she is most likely interning in a ministry or an international institution like the European Union or NATO.
He told the Brussels Times: “Elisabeth will still do a seven-week summer internship with a view to her second year at Harvard. That does suggest that she might be able to return next academic year.”
The Duchess of Brabant recently completed her first year in her master’s program at Harvard University in Boston, Massachusetts. However, she is now at the centre of a political controversy in the United States.
The Trump Administration has revoked Harvard’s ability to enroll international students, but a federal judge has temporarily blocked the administration from enforcing the rules. Students have been told they have to transfer to a new school or lose their legal status in the U.S.
It remains to be seen if President Trump will grant an exception to a future head of state, but the Belgian Royal Palace is evaluating its options.
