Spanish royals preside over 2026 Princess of Girona Awards

King Felipe, Queen Letizia, the Princess of Asturias and Infanta Sofía presided over the 2026 Princess of Girona Awards.

The family was received by the President of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, also honorary vice-president of the FPdGi, the President of the FPdGi, Francisco Belil; the general director of the Princess of Girona Foundation, Salvador Tasqué, and the secretary of the FPdGi, Silvia Martínez.

Before the ceremony, a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Princess of Girona Foundation was held, presided over by the King.

Upon their arrival at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, King Felipe and Queen Letizia and the Princess of Girona and the Infanta Sofía were greeted by the President of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa; the Third Vice-President of the Government and Minister for Ecological Transition, Sara Aagesen; the Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with the Cortes, Félix Bolaños; the Acting Government Delegate in Catalonia, María del Carmen García-Calvillo; the President of the FPdGi, Francisco Belil, and the Director of the FPdGi, Salvador Tasqué; the Inspector General of the Army, Javier Rodríguez; the Minister of Education and Vocational Training of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Esther Niubó; the Minister of Social Rights and Inclusion of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Mónica Martínez; the Vice-President of the Generalitat Valenciana, Susana Camarero; and the Secretary of the Government of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Javier Villamayor. The President of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Lluïsa Moret; the Deputy Mayor of Barcelona City Council, María Eugenia Gay; and the President of the Gran Teatre del Liceu Foundation, Salvador Alemany.
