Queen Silvia of Sweden has paid tribute to Christer Lindarw, designer and drag queen, fifty years after they had an iconic moment together.
Queen Silvia appeared on TV4’s Vilket liv to surprise Christer Lindarw with a rose, as he had done so many years ago. Even the stage was the same – the Oscars Theatre in Stockholm. She appeared in full glam, wearing a tiara and the dress he had worn.

She expressed her appreciation for his long career with the drag show group After Dark as she spoke to him on the stage. “From one Queen to another”, she said as she handed him the long-stemmed rose as he had done.
„Dear Christer, 1977, it’s almost 50 years ago. You gave me a rose here at the Oscars Theater. You have imitated me so many times.“
„I have made a lot of money from it too.“ 😄
„From one Queen to another. Thank you very much.“ 🌹

Christer has long used Queen Silvia’s image as a drag queen. He also performed for the royal family during the celebrations for Crown Princess Victoria’s 40th birthday.
