Belgian King and Queen visit Olympic Village

King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of the Belgians visited the Olympic Village to spend time with the Belgian athletes.

Their Majesties visited Team Belgium at the Olympic Village in Saint-Denis and had lunch with the athletes.

The King and Queen saw the dorm rooms and chatted with some of the athletes representing their country.

Earlier in the day, Their Majesties attended the field hockey match between Belgium and Ireland. Belgium won 2-0 with their monarch and consort in the stands to cheer them on.

King Philippe and Queen Mathilde were at the rainy Opening Ceremony in Paris on 26 July.

They were joined by royals from across the globe, including the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess of Luxembourg, Princess Reema of Saudi Arabia, and King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain.
