King of Cambodia’s cancer operation successful

King Norodom Sihamoni of Cambodia has successfully undergone prostate cancer surgery today.

This was confirmed by Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen, who accompanied the King and the Queen Mother, along with his sons, to China.

The procedure was carried out earlier this morning, and the King has since regained consciousness. He is being closely monitored by medical staff for post-operative recovery

Hun Sen stated that the King and the Queen Mother had expressed gratitude to members of the public who had sent well-wishes and messages of support. He also thanked Chinese President Xi Jinping and the Chinese government for their care and attention to King Norodom Sihamoni.

If the King continues to improve, he will return to Cambodia in 2 days.
