King Norodom Sihamoni of Cambodia has begun an official visit to China. He left yesterday morning to start the three-day visit to Fujian province.

He will attend the 30th Anniversary Exhibition of the 3820 Strategic Plan, an economic development plan for the capital of Fujian province.

In the King’s absence, the President of the Senate will be the acting head of state.

Kin Phea, director-general of the International Relations Institute of Cambodia at the Royal Academy of Cambodia, said, “The visit of the King of Cambodia to Fujian shows the depth of Cambodia-China relations. I have observed that China has a frequent exchange of official visits among all the countries that have relations with Cambodia. From the political point of view, we see that both countries support each other, both bilaterally and multilaterally. Additionally, trade between Cambodia and China also increased; there is also Cambodia-China bilateral free trade.”
