The King of Bhutan has offered prayers at the Swayambhu and Boudha Stupas in Kathmandu.
The King is travelling back to Bhutan following his official visit to India, and he stopped over in Kathmandu. He was received at the airport by Nepal’s Foreign Minister, Her Excellency Arzu Rana Deuba.
Swayambhu is located on the top of a hill in the Kathmandu Valley and is one of the most ancient religious sites in Nepal. Boudha is in the centre of Kathmandu and has connections to Guru Rinpoche in a previous life and is regarded as a Jangchub Chorten. This symbolises peace and enlightenment.
The King has thanked the people of Nepal for the warm welcome.
