Hanako, Princess Hitachi has attended the award ceremony for the Japan Equestrian Federation. She is the honorary president of the federation.
The ceremony was held in Minato Ward, Tokyo, and began with a minute of silence for the victims of the Noto Peninsula earthquake.
Princess Hitachi said, “First of all, I would like to pray for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives in the earthquake that struck the Noto region of Ishikawa Prefecture early in the new year. Please accept my condolences.”
In relation to this year’s Olympics in Paris, she added, “I hope that you will do your best with your beloved horses and have no regrets. Everyone, I sincerely hope that you can stay healthy and enjoy your days with your horses.”
A special award was given to Kazuhiro Yoshizawa, who won a silver medal in the eventing team at the 2023 Asian Games.
