Crown Princess Kiko of Japan visited a health screening site.
The Crown Princess visited Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture, to inspect a mass health checkup site conducted by the Ishikawa branch of the Japan Anti-Tuberculosis Association. Crown Princess Kiko is the President of the Japan Anti-Tuberculosis Association.
The Crown Princess helped set up the site on Wednesday morning. She spoke with staff and the local residents who arrived for their health checkups. One member of staff told reporters that the Crown Princess inquired about recent heatstrokes among the elderly population.
After visiting the screening site, the Crown Princes went to the Hapimaru Cafe, where pregnant women can consult with midwives and also speak with mothers and infants about their experiences. Crown Princess Kiko held several children and read picture books to them.
