Princess Takamado has arrived in Sweden to visit organisations as well as to celebrate the King and Queen’s Golden Wedding Anniversary.

Princess Takamado (Hisako) has arrived in Sweden on an ‘unofficial’ visit. The Princess, who is renowned for her diplomatic work in representing Japan and the Imperial Family, is visiting the Kingdom to visit various organisations and companies in Malmö, Lund, and Stockholm. The visit is expected to further strengthen Japan’s relations with Sweden.

Hisako is also in the country at the invitation of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia. Their Majesties have invited the Princess to join in the official celebrations marking the golden wedding anniversary of Sweden’s King and Queen. Festivities include a traditional Te Deum service at the Royal Palace Church, a concert in Kungsträdgården, and a performance at the Royal Opera.
