Queen Sonja of Norway visited a Salvation Army hospital in Oslo ahead of Christmas.

The Queen visited the Salvation Army’s Gatehospital on 20 December to hear about the work of the hospital by management and staff.

Her Majesty also received a tour of patient rooms and common areas. While in the common areas, Queen Sonja met patients, and they were treated to musical performances and a quiz.

The hospital services those with substance abuse and has been in operation for 20 years. They also assist those who need inpatient care for long-term illnesses, end-of-life stage or physical exhaustion.

The Salvation Army’s Gatehospital opened in 2004 and has 22 beds in three departments.
