Princess Charlene receives award

Princess Charlene of Monaco received an award from her husband, Prince Albert II, on Thursday.

Charlene received the médaille de l’Education physique et des sports (medal for Physical Education and Sports) from Albert. She was 1 of 59 people to receive the award. She received the medal for her dedication to sports life in Monaco.

The former Olympic swimmer has been involved in sports in the principality since her marriage to Prince Albert. With her own foundation, the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation, she tries to save lives by preventing drowning and promotes sports education. Charlene is also a patron of AS Rugby Monaco and the Special Olympics Charity Foundation.
