Luxembourg’s Grand Ducal Court has confirmed who will give this year’s Christmas Eve address.

There had been speculation as to who would address the Luxembourgish people this year on Christmas Eve ever since Grand Duke Henri named Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume as Lieutenant Representative (Regent) on 8 October.

Following years of tradition, Grand Duke Henri will address Luxembourg on Christmas Eve, not his Regent son.

The Grand Ducal Court told Royal News, “As every year, it will be the Grand Duke who will give the Christmas Eve address.”

Many will not be surprised at the confirmation but still, there were several on social media questioning who would have the honour this year.

And it seems, at least, for 2024, Grand Duke Henri will continue his tradition of speaking to Luxembourg on Christmas Eve.
