King Abdullah of Jordan has bestowed the Bejewelled Grand Cordon of Al Nahda (Order of the Renaissance) on Queen Rania, for her dedication and service to Jordan.
The Royal Hashemite Court said it was granted to her in “appreciation of her distinguished service, her leading role in the advancement of Jordanian society, and her keenness to support Jordanians in all fields.”
He also penned a loving letter to his wife ahead of International Women’s Day saying, in part, “I have witnessed, firsthand, as you have strived to ensure the very best for your fellow Jordanians in various fields, without ever seeking praise or gratitude in return. Every obstacle and hardship you have encountered has only made you more determined to serve the public with honour.”
Queen Rania later said on social media: “Your Majesty, I am honoured to receive this recognition, but there is no greater honour than being by your side, and no responsibility greater than your trust. I have been blessed to spend my life with you, to be the mother of our children and your lifelong partner. You are a leader with a brave vision for his country, firm in your principles, and inspiring in your faith. I am fortunate to have your trust and support, and will forever remain a faithful soldier in your ranks, Abu Al Hussein.”
The King and Queen also welcomed women from across Jordan to Al Husseiniya Palace to thank them for their contributions to Jordanian society. King Abdullah also took the opportunity to thank Queen Rania for her support for Jordanian women.
The Queen then commended Jordanian women and their achievements in society and Jordan and for their warmness toward her.
She said: “I have grown with you and through you. You have welcomed me into your homes and shared your ambitions, hard work, and dreams with me. I always feel at home and among family wherever I am in Jordan.”
She also thanked her husband for his support for her and Jordanian women.
