Queen Camilla is set to be joined by Queen Mathilde of the Belgians and the Duchess of Gloucester for an event to mark International Women’s Day.
As President of Women of the World (WOW), Queen Camilla will host a reception to mark International Women’s Day and the end of the WOW Girls Festival Bus Tour on 12 March.
Their Majesties and Her Royal Highness will meet the Director of WOW, Jude Kelly, the Executive Director of Wow, Colete Bailey, and the Director of Festivals and Programmes, Domino Pateman, at Buckingham Palace.
They will also visit the WOW Bus in the quadrangle on its last stop in a five-month tour.
The WOW Girls Festival Bus Tour began on 11 October 2023, on the International Day of the Girl, and will conclude on 8th March on International Women’s Day.
According to Buckingham Palace, “The WOW Girls Festival is a force for change across society in how it sees girls, their potential and the opportunities it offers for their future.”
Queen Camilla, Queen Mathilde, and the Duchess of Gloucester will tour the interactive space on the bus and meet young people who took part in the festival. Later, they will meet primary school children who participated in the WOW Girls Festival before meeting the likes of Helen Mirren and Melanie Brown.
Camilla will also deliver a speech at the reception with around 160 guests, including youth aged from seven to 20.
